Confirmation
'Confirmation' is the name of a special kind of ministry focused on helping young people and adults learn the most important parts of the Christian faith. Through the Ten Commandments, the Apostle's Creed, the Lord's Prayer, Baptism, Confession, the Lord's Supper, and the Scriptures, we learn....
Who God is
Who we are as creatures and as sinners
What God has done to save us from our sin through Christ Jesus
How God shows His grace to us
God's invitation for us to call on Him as our Heavenly Father
How our lives are renewed by what God has done
What we can dare to hope for from God
Although confirmation usually aims at preparing people for receiving the Lord's Supper and growing more fully into our worship community, we encourage and invite anyone who is curious about the Christian faith, or who wants to deepen their understanding of Christ, to go through the instruction even if they ultimately do not join our fellowship.
There are two kinds of confirmation:
Youth - A two year program for 5th-8th graders that takes place during the school year, and includes a kick-off campout on Lake Ada, weekly classes on the most important beliefs of Christianity, and regular youth rallies that bring together confirmation youth groups from more than 10 area churches to learn, have fun, and grow together with one another under Christ.
Adult - A series of classes with the pastor that delve into what Christians believe, why we believe it, and who we are called to be because of what God has done for us in Christ. The schedule is highly flexible so as to accommodate any schedule.
